Hi Guys,
first post here , mostly hang in wildeness/survival. I just got interested in the old schrades again. I had several when I was younger but stupidly sold them all off years ago. I just picked this one up off the bay. My question is it is clearly stamped "Schrade USA 330t" But as I research a bit I find no 330s with 3 blades like this one. Any ideas why this is stamped 330t ? Thanks.

The 33OT and 34OT both used the same clip blade. Probably just a production mistake, or the assembler was out of the 34OT marked blades.

This explanation always made sense to me, until the other day.
These were made with the Swinden key system. To assemble it the assembler adds the outside liner & handle assemblies and the inner assembly.
The blades, one spring (for the master), center liner & all three blades are part of the inner assembly.

If there was a mistake, It had to be when the inner assembly was being put together.

ONE POSSIBLE EXCEPTION:
If the knife was assembled by Camillus it will be pin through bolster construction and the blade could have been substituted at assembly.
:confused::confused:

This really doesn't change anything, it just seems to me that the subassembly would likely be assembled in a pretty much automated process.
In theory, machines should be less likely to make mistakes.
Just another minor Schrade mystery. :D

Thats interesting. Also I see your name is Dale,, so is mine. Not to many of us. except for a couple in NASCAR. Thanks.

love the knowledge that is so freely given. and mine is Del which is kinda rare especially since it is short for Delmas

Just wondering is your "Next Stop,,Willoughby ! " signature is a reference to Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone? I kinda think it must be. Just wondered... I love that show. William Shatner was classic in that episode long before "Capt. Kirk" if I'm thinking of the right one. Cheers!

Yes, Twilight zone, an episode where things were perfect in a little town called "Willoughby" This one did not have Shatner but he did appear on some others.
