This knife is so big it needs 2 threads.

I wanted to make a big gnarley chopper with a style inspired by the old straight razors. Here it is after heat treat. I'll update this thread as my work progresses.

.360 5160 Steel Stock
Deep Dish Hollow Grind

It will get stainless tubes and glow in the dark Jade G11 scales.

You can really see the quench line in this photo. The entire cutting area has been fully hardened but the handle and most of the spine are a bit softer. 5160 seems to harden no matter what but this will make it even tougher.

Doesn't really look too out of the ordinary except for in your hand where you can actually see how big it is, are you planning to shave with it? I'm sure it could take out even the gnarliest beard in 2 or 3 strokes. :) Cool design

Thanks! I'm afraid if I give it a razor edge it's massiveness will force it to slice through anything it gets set on. Imagine... you set it on your counter and next thing you know... big cleaver shaped hole in the counter!

Hey Daniel is that the knife you modeled your mini after? Don't hurt yourself! HAHA

I removed the G11 glow scales and put on the Kryptonite from Shadetree Custom Composites!

I'll get a better photo soon.
