I was poking around my ASH-1 stuff today & one grabbed my attention. It looks like the blank could be a 3B2 variant.

I’ve read the thickness is .23. (ref) and you can tell the blade height is shorter than ASH-1.
Mine is .231 thick.

TurnerIII TurnerIII previously provided some similar comparison pics. (thx!!)

So, here’s what looks to be a 3B2 variant…

I’d love to hear your guys’ thoughts… and see any 3B2 variants.

I'm not familiar with 3B2 but I like the looks of the handle. The little bit of a hook at the front and back would be nice assuming my hand would fit.
I don't have a ASH but I love the fit of my ASHBM, Battle Saw, Library Heart and Dirt Dart... I think they are nearly the same as the ASH (please correct me)

To me it seems that the ashes are not variants in their own sub category. They need to be nuclear or variant specific.
They need to be the same thickness and length and handle to be a “variant”.
These are not variants of the 3b2
The 3B2 is a different ASH

I see what your seeing. The talon hole looks kind of elongated also.
Talon hole elongation looks like that because he talon hole is in the same place (with respect to ASH-1) and the spine is at the same place… but the choil is higher (and blade height shorter).

TurnerIII TurnerIII already showed blade / handle length is common between 3B2 & ASH-1. Scales different, sure. Again, thickness is the same.

I can’t call mine a 3B2 variant, because the 3B2 hadn’t been released yet. But, maybe they’re the same blank?

Anybody have a top of choil… to spine measurement?
