I wasn't sure if I was going to review this knife.
Not because it's bad or anything, but because of availability. Sort of like Koenig or something like that except unlike Koenig it's not vaporware.
You can get one, but not like a CRK.

Riaan Manser is the maker using the name 3LegDog, apparently his shop dog which has unfortunately passed away. South African, hence the availability.

This is his P6 model:

I liked it as soon as I saw it; it only took me a few days to hit the BIN.
Sucker for Wharnies don't you know.
You can get the specs from BladeGallery, who apparently is the only US distributor.
Elmax, as you can see, with Ti liners and those awesome G20 camo scales.
Uh.
It took me a few days to BIN because of the awesome G10 scales.
I don't like G10.
I don't like Camo.
Anyways the blade rides on ceramics and it flies out and locks nice and solid.
Good detent, couldn't wiggle or snap it out.
Nice flipping action; not too much pressure needed.
Great tolerances.
Did I mention G10 and Camo?
One of the things I look for nowadays is if the scales can be replaced easily.
Yes it can, but instead I went with the Rit:

Okay! Now we're talkin!
Price.
Mid tech priced.
I believe Mr. Manser works alone, but his shop looks highly automated. Makes stuff in batches so although BladeGallery calls this a custom, I'm not so sure (then again, there aren't many P6s floating around out there so he may make this model only in smaller runs).
Great feel in the hand.
Balance point right in the finger groove.
Not too heavy, not too light (cheap feeling).
For me, it does have a certain je ne sais quoi, a feeling that I'm holding quality.
Okay, okay, I did spend some scratch so it might be just me justifying that cash.
We got guns too right, so it's like holding a 1911 Springfield and a 1911 Colt; there's just something there on the Colt side.
I've never held a Hinderer and only one Sabenza, so maybe this feeling is new to me. Even my other custom folder doesn't give me that feeling of well, quality (it's a lot lighter).
The G10 (to me) is a bit on the cheap side, but he works with other materials also.

I've looked and the only place I can find with inventory is Blade Gallery.
Riaan has a FB and Instagram page, but I don't know if he does sales through them.
I usually don't look at other blade styles, but I may fork out more cash for one of his other models.
I like this one that much.
Going to spend some hard earned money?
This deserves a look.
