I am trying to get the best bang for the buck respirator I can without compromising health and safety. I've been recommended 3M 7500 and North 7700 respirators, but they cost more and don't include filters. How would this one work?

Thanks for your time! Sincerely,

-Don

P100 seems to be what is recommended for most particulates -- but not for gaseous problems like melting micarta and g10 etc. That with good ventilation is about the same thing I have, just a cheap princess auto one in my case, but with P100 filters. If it's a bad idea I hope someone speaks up, but I'm pretty sure its fine. Just make sure you get a GOOD seal of it against your face,no facial hair at the seals.

I use that one and got it from TruGrit.

Seems to work well.

When sanding or grinding toxic stuff like wood and G10 etc. I like to put a fan blowing on the work area to blow all that junk in the direction I am not in.

I think the one you linked to would be fine if- it fits and you like it.

It's a 3M and the various 3m filters should fit that and others.

The size there in the Amazon link is medium and there are 3 sizes to choose from.
If you go to a safety supplier, they can show you and test fit you for the different sizes.

The other 2 more expensive ones are silicone.
It's very soft, more comfortable and seals better than the harder ones.

the difference between them is $6.85

I like this style of filter with the hard shell better than the exposed fabric pancake style in your first amazon link.

For that $ 6.85 difference, the silicone felt more comfortable to me.

You can probably get better deals somewhere else, especially when you watch the shipping.
