Been awhile since I've been on this forum. Anyone remember and can point me to a maker for 3v fixed blades. Can't remember who he was and what the knives were called. He had a great video of driving the knife thru a cement block, sound familiar? Who was he and what were the blades called? Looking to see if I can purchase one..

Thank you

He had a great video of driving the knife thru a cement block,
Fun over the top stuff.
Here's one

Here's another one
I just got on YouTube and searched "3V knife Cinder Block" (and for the first one I searched "Frag Monkey".

and for a finale I will post a photo of my highly modded Pendleton Hunter in 3V
I've never abused it but it has cut into large box staples with out a care.
Love 3V !

Holly cow, I remember these were under $300 for the shiv's. Only ones I see on the forum are $800-$900.00. What?

I may need to rethink my want....

Depends what you're looking for. The secondary market can be pretty high on CPK stuff. My Carothers HDFK was under $400 last year direct from @Nathan the Machinist if I recall correctly and mine had a couple options raising the price a bit higher than the base model.

not only Carothers, but Bark Rivers have some excellent 3v - one of my current favourites (aptly named, Canadian) (they have a smaller 4 inch version also if you think this is too big)

I just for a cold steel AK47 fixed blade in 3V that I'm actually really impressed with, especially for the price.

Love me some 3V here too. Nathan is doing an HDFK drop this Friday. If that doesn’t work out, another brand worth checking out (without the Bark River baggage) is LT Wright. I’ve heard good things about them - actually just ordered a 3V convex Genesis this weekend :)

thread is interesting, thanks. But the video seems unrelated... maybe I'm missing something? In any case, I understand steel alloys fairly well, I don't expect 3v to be rust proof or even 'stainless' - it's used for toughness and edge holding, both of which it excels in :)

the thread has some complaints of quality control issues, and customer service with Bark River, but from 9 years ago... is this still an ongoing thing? thanks for the heads up

Search around a bit if you want. The blade in the video was supposed to be CPM 154 but was apparently A2. He has follow ups if you care to look into it.

where did I step in poo?
Many folks here don't trust BRKT, including me, and I've owned quite a few. Too much smoke with that company to there not be fire. Lots of information out there if you do your research.
