When I was making this Kiridashi I mulled over ideas of what type of handle material to use and realized that I had never seen a Dashi with Stag on it so that settled it.
Anyway, like I said, its 3V @ RC 62 with a 600X finish, Stag scales, & brass tubes. The cutting edge is ~2 5/8" long and the overall length is approx. 6.5". It is ground to .005" at the edge and I'll convex it to sharp after I decide on and get a sheath made.
You guys let me know your thoughts. Is it nice or just flat out butt ugly? Don't worry, I can take it. LOL

I like it too!

Something I would love to carry!

Great looking knife. I'm pretty partial to stag, so may be biased:D

awesome and pretty little carry piece.

I'll admit it you could put some stag on a #2 pencil and I would like it :D but yes it looks pretty sweet to me and would probably make a really good splinter getter/sticker too.:thumbup:

Nice, I love it

A kiridashi is my bench knife and gets used constantly.

Very handy tools

schweeet. no convex tho' , but that's just my .02 cents of opinion. i'd buy it either way, if i could.
thanks, Neal
p.s.- make another, then you have the pair for marking wood or doing whatever. look cool inna leather sheath.

PM, email, or call me if you're interested. I don't wanna get in trouble by talking $$$ in this thread.

same here, great bench tool, I just threw on some leather slab sides for mine.

Never knew how handy they were until I made one and used it a few times. Now I have several, I'm always within reach of one. FYI, for a right hander, if you grind the bevel on the left side they make the perfect box cutter. That way the flat is on the bottom and easier to control the depth of cut for slicing off the top of a box/carton.
