Hi,
Been working on this since I saw all the cool mega chopper out there.
It is 3V, 0.220 thick with the blade starting at 2.375 wide to roughly 2 inches. The handles ARE burlap glow in the dark micarta that I made and the handle fasteners are titanium chain ring bolts. The HT was done by Peters with the advice of Dan Keffeler. I am proud of this as it turned out just like my ideas and sketches.
I have not used it long as I finished it a couples day ago but made a woods chopping video as well as a walk thru.

Thanks for the inspiration.

I really like the blade shape, and the fact you are contouring the thickness of the handle with swells.

Personally I prefer a shorter single hand grip for that size, but to each their own. Nice work

I apperciate it. Ya the handle being about 8inches lets you either 1 or 2 hand chop. It only weights 2.2lbs but I would say it can deliver much much more power then the shorter handled heavier blades I have seen in action.
The handle has some milling which produce a Ibeam. It also provides some counter balance, pivoting while chopping with one hand. Even having a heavy tip. The back swedge stops 2 inches from the tip and the balance point is roufhly 2.5-2.75 inches from raciso.
I Am however going to eventually make a XL grinch with 27-28inches with the handles and blade growing 2 inches.
I think with the current blade length and a slightly longer handle I could develope more pow pow even.
I am going to go try this today against my ax which is the same length but weights 1.25lbs more.
I think I can make more cutting power with the grinch based on the speed I can also make swinging.
I also have a real katana from my great uncle which in my youth I unfortunitly partially destroyed the handle but it is a foot longer and rozor sharp but does not come close to developing the same power with two hands cause the mass is not the same as well as the width of the blade.
I think I can make two cuts in the time I see most people completing one swing. It a fast blade.

Looking good Bud !! I dig it for sure man !! Most of my handle styles are based off Gavko's as well. Just a functional aspect :-)
