Is Cold steel going to be making any more of the SRK’s and Master Hunters in 3v with DLC coating; or are they discontinued? I can’t find them anywhere and I’d really like to get both.
 
I believe those are disco'd . I still see Recon Tanto , Warcraft etc in 3V with DLC . The big move back to San Mai may indicate the the black blade 3V models weren't great sellers ? :(
 
Well that’s the worst news I’ve heard all day! If anyone happens to have one or both of those laying around and doesn’t like them, let me know
 
I prefer uncoated steels myself. DLC is nice as far as coatings go.....but I'm fine with 3v being uncoated. so I've passed on all the dlc 3v stuff.
 
It’s a shame really... the CPM 3V Master Hunter is my absolute favorite hunting knife. I have not sharpened it yet and have processed 8 deer so far. This includes hitting bone and a few rocks during field dressing.

I don't doubt that the 3V DLC blades are tougher and more functional , but people like what they like and most of these knives don't see hard enough use to matter .

I have old "Carbon V" SRK and Recon Tanto that have proven to be near indestructible except for the black coating . They are 30 or 40 years of abuse old !
