I am looking for suggestions for a 4"-5" fixed blade bowie. Something that is a production knife and a user.

You'd find the Spyderco Fred Perrin is what you're asking for.

How about a SOG Seal Pup? It has a 4.75 inch-long "Bowie-style" (clip-point) blade.

COld Steel SRK

or have a look at Western Cutlery(owned by Camillus).

Ok, I know you said production... but if you are looking for a 4"-5" BOWIE knife, I'd like to steer you in a good direction. I have a little bowie that is one of my favorite knives in my collection. Go to www.lameyknives.com and check out page 2 of the gallery. There is a knife called the "Urban Bowie". I have one very similar to this and just love it. I had Kenny Rowe make me a boot clip sheath for it and I carry it almost daily when I walk the dog. Yep, it's a "dog-walkin' Bowie"! Now this one would cost you way more than all of the other previously mentioned knives, but in the long run it will give you more pleasure to look at, use, and carry.
My .02,
Mongo
