I'm looking forward to the new 4.5 Bushcraft because I couldn't help but think it would make a good steak knife.
Maybe not in 3V (not really dishwasher safe) but in Elmax or 20CV.

I guess we'll find out.

Has anyone else thought about it?

I'm currently using Busse steak knives in elmax for dang near everything in the kitchen. The hollow grind keeps it super sharp but the big choil really sucks on the smaller ones.

No knife that you enjoy, love, are indifferent to, or generally use should go in the dishwasher!

Even if it is stainless.

Don't put that Busse in the dishwasher, even if it is elemax.

Sets my teeth on edge.

My family has ruined quite a few knives. Mother in law just put one of my exotic wood handled knives through the washer. Ruined it. She got new knives for Christmas. I had to warn her that they were wood handled, and not to wash them in the washer, or let them soak in the sink.

Unless it is a butter knife. Then, you can wash it in the dishwasher.

Every knife is a steak knife if you want it to be.
+1 on the never use a dishwasher on a knife.
Nobody uses my kitchen knives but me. There are beaters for the rest of them.
If I have house guests I hide my kitchen knives.

i really want a spyderco lum tanto for a steak knife. i will be using my 4.5 as my venison knife.

It would make a fantastic steak knife, especially on camping trips!! I had an old buck skinning/hunting knife and it made a great field steak knife and was good at cutting cordage too. Even though it's "stainless" I have some nice patina on it. Anyway, if you use it at home I suggest hand washing it.
