Email sent on the Siru...25" should be a fun one!

Wow... :-) :-) :-) :-)

Where is everyone today? I half expected to get a "Sorry..." response on the Siru.

Looks like I got a 12" AK to compare with my Pen knife. :D

And I thought I had this HIKV disease under control after last Saturday. :p

Thanks for snatching up that 25", Nasty! I would LOVE to have one, but i'm a tad on the broke side right now;) soon, though:)

Why a run of 18th centuries all of a sudden? They are not even in the "Special" category at the HI site -- just an historic note. Not that I'm complaining since I came away from MWKK04 with one of them. :)

Goes to show you the difference from one Khuk to another even when made by the same Kami. I have a 25" Kobra that is 4ozs heavier then the Sirupati listed. I do like the look of the 18th century.

I swear they look just like WWIIs...

I like 'em even better with the cross hatching that used to come standard. Nasty has one like that in his 'khuk bucket.'

I got to see some newer Ak Bowies this weekend, and I really miss the old style ones with the double fuller. The last few non-standard YCSs to slip outta Bir Gorkha were sans the double fuller too. Luckily, the kamis have compensated for the weight diff by making them a bit thinner in profile, and with more distal taper. Still well executed tho.

I want to make sure I give credit to Bruise for that...the old thread about how you store your Khuks...works great! :D

I have always wanted one of the Ak Bowies with the double fuller. I bought one and it was one of the newer ones. Ended up trading it, but maybe one day some will show up.

Mark; let me get this straight- you had one and let it go? How much did your's weigh? I hope those haven't gotten any lighter.

I also want one someday.
edit- they still show the double fuller on the shopping site. I dont' blame you- I don't want one without the two fullers either.

An 18th Century is definitely on my wish-list, and I almost sent an email on this one, but I just can't tell the difference between it and my 18" Horn WWII. If it had the old cross-hatching or had a different blade shape I would grab it. Of course, I'm going by the photo alone which can be subjective.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the 2 styles?

Also, first I've heard of the AK Bowie not having the 2 fullers anymore. That is also on my "to get" list, and the two fullers are what made the look in my opinion.

Thanks,

Norm

Two fullers or nothing.

Otherwise, skip the Bowie- make a big kitchen cleaver. Which I'd like.

Don't look at me. I paid HI off, but now must start from scratch to buy a 10mm.
