So, we recently went to another NYState Park on a 4 day camping trip to celebrate our 26 year Wedding Anniversary & i did a little knife testing as well. My wife says i have issues ! LOL We had a great time. Weather was great & it only rained at night while we were sleeping. :D We camp in a 30' toyhauler camper, but only brought the mt. bikes this time. It may not be your idea of camping, but it is what it is. Enjoy.

Now here is how i make the nightly campfire. Laugh if you want, but it works excellent---even if the wood is wet.

I take an old egg carton & put a piece of match-lite charcoal in each egg slot (i wear a glove to avoid charcoal hand). Then spray a little more lighter fluid on the egg carton after it is in the fire ring.

Then use the wood that the Beckers (or whatever you use) split & layer it like so.

Then light with whatever you use. I used my handy dandy new yellow ZIPPO lighter, that i got at SMKW.

It was a great time. Hope you enjoy the pics. Here is one more of our rig.

awesome pics! thanks for sharing. You know, when I saw the first pic of the chipmunk, I thought the next pic would be one of a chipmunk hide nailed out on a plank.... and little kebobs of meat over the fire, ha! Great knife pics and great firesticks. And just so you know, I think your version of camping is just fine. Unfortunately theres always people who think unless you are drinking your own urine in the desert somewhere then its just not camping! Also, bowhunting is more "huntin" than with rifles, etc. I guess we are all guilty of that to some degree. Nice Ram truck.

Looks like a lot of fun. Makes me want to get 'out there' more often!

Really got a kick out of the pix of the chipmunk. Those are neat little critters.

Thanks for sharing . . .

I also used the Ka-Bar WartHog to baton with, my Tops/Buck CSAR-T fixed blade, Ontario Spec-Plus Kukri, & even my Gerber Metolius fixed blade & my CS Recon 1 tanto folder. They all performed well, although my CS Recon 1 folder is loose now, but i think i can just tighten up the torx to fix it. I know i probably should'nt have been batoning with it, but WTH, i'd rather have it fail now, than if i ever need to trust my life to it. One old guy across the way kept looking at me funny, i don't know why. LOL

Looks like a great time man! Glad ya got out to play a bit. Good pix too so I'll let the non-Cummins powered Ram slide.

:D :jerkit: OH NO YOU DID'NT GO THERE !!!;) That is a POWER WAGON pal, not some ordinary RAM !!! LOL Actually, it is one of 8 made (or 4) for that year, with those options. It has a 6 speed manual G-56 trans in it (6.3:1 1st gear) & it has an engine block heater from the factory. 78:1 crawl ratio. 12,000 lb Warn winch. Full skid plating. 2" lift. 4.56 gears. 33" tires. Bilstein shocks. Locking front & rear diffs. Electronic disconnecting swaybar for awesome articulation. As for the diesel dilema: once while camping @ the top of an 1800' mt., a F350 CC diesel 4x4 pulling a 39' Raptor 5th wheel toyhauler pulled in. It rained for 5 days straight, & me & him were the only ones left. When he went to leave, he could'nt even make it up a tiny little incline. So I asked him if he wanted me to try to pull him out. He laughed & said his truck weighs 8-9000lbs & his camper is 16,000 empty & he had 150 gal of water @ 8.3 lbs per gallon & 4 atvs & gear in the back. He said "aint no gasser gonna pull that." I said OK, but i am the only one left & once i hook up to my toyhauler, your on your own. He tried for 45 min & just dug trenches. So finally he came over & asked for help. I hooked up, 1st gear, 4 Lo but did NOT even engage the lockers & pulled him right out without even spinning a tire. He was amazed. I told him his tires sucked (street tread) but the low gearing in my truck makes a HUGE difference. Still ain't no diesel, but it will drive circles around a stock diesel truck off-road. :D

Thats why i like Becker knives, they are like the Power Wagon of knives ! LOL
