4" DMT stones in Hapstone?

First time posting...

Long time Lansky and DMT Aligner user here. Have a full set of five 4" DMT stones which I use with my Lansky clamp. Looking at upgrading to a Hapstone RS or V8. Looks like the Hapstone will take pretty much any stone. Has anybody tried the 4" stones in a Hapstone and did the length compromise sharpening at all?

I will be glad to help you.

Yes the 4" DMT Aligner stones will fit any Hapstone system including RS and V8. You will be able to work with the entire surface area of the stone.

But for convenience in the future it is better to switch to the 6x1" format. You will be more comfortable sharpening longer knives.

Many thanks Mario. Using the DMTs will give me a chance to try it out without sinking too much cash. If I like it I'm sure I'll get some 6" stones down the line.

Yes, there is no problem with fixing the 4" stones. On both the R2 and RS they do a great job with this kind of fixing.
