Ok, I haven't seen any post along these lines in the couple months I've been here, so I figure it's natural enough to ask what I think is an interesting question to get opinions and post my own. So here it is: What type of design would you like to see in an Emerson knife?

Ok, here's my basic idea.

Blade Style: I couldn't decide on the commander's blade or a longer tanto blade. So I'd put up those two options. The long commander blade, or a Tanto blade coming in at just under 4 inches.

Handle: a CQC7 handle with an extra inch on it, and less of a hump in the middle.

Liners: Titanium is ok, but I'd like to see them as thick as the MT LCC's liners, and a linerlock is ok.

I think that would make a real awesome knife, wave would definitely be standard, if not required. A skull clip would be standard. I don't know if the commander blade would fit in any variation of the CQC7 handle though. I guess what it boils down to is I'd really like to see a larger CQC7 /w wave and thicker liners.

I know posts like this are a bit on the silly side. But I always think the ideas are interesting. So if you don't mind, humor me. :)

Also, one question. Can I purchase skull clips? If so, how much are they? At first I thought they were odd, but now I think I want one or two. ;)

Sounds like you are descriping a bigger SOCFK, which I would also like to see.

As for skull clips, they are $15 under the gear section on the website. I haven't every seen them for less.

The Perfect Emerson?
Hmmmmmm Let me see,If I ever get my "leftie" CQC-6 that would be pretty close to perfect but then again my "Leftie" Commander from the
C/P shop would fit the bill as well :D

The perfect Emerson Knife?
Gotta be an ES1-M production model (with single bevel!)
*major drool factor!*

NAAAAH! Production CQC8, waved, zero ground. :D :D '98 Commander-style liners, and sculpted G-10 in black or OD green.

Ohhh... I think that did something to me. I... I have to be alone for a bit... :D

Hate to say it but I would not go for a folder. I am thinking fixed blade all the way. I think that a Vindicator would be perfect. You could have two sizes, 4-5" blade and 6-7" blade.

Make that thar nanner knife waved and y'all have a pretty nifty knife thar! :D

Make them thar handles real nice and curvy too! Just like ma women! ;)

That's a Waved CQC8 with sculpted handles for you civilized folks :)

Production knives I'd like to see from EKI:

  • *"Super Sized Commander" - 4 1/4" or so in size (larger even then an ES1-M) Third Generation style (aka New style "Traction Grooves").
*Production "Naner". Preferably waved, but hey, I'll settle for a non-waved version at first :)
*Uncoated Satin as an option on knives, even if it's from the C/P shop.
*A "Tactical" Fixed Blade (with a Kydex sheath like the one at Blade). I'd like to see an "A" style and a "B" style. Perhaps built around the "Mirage" design. Maybe two sizes, "regular" and "OH MY GOD!"

Just my wish list. Sorry

John

I would have to say that a larger Spec-War knife with a blade length of 5 inches+ (Silver color). Since I really don't like liner locks, something similar to an axis lock or rolling lock would be nice. The handles should be different from the "everday black" possibly olive green, or blue g-10. The wave would be a nice option, although with that size blade it should "flick" open just fine.
