getting back into blades. I have an Emerson commander, Barrage, and a Vector that I carry.

Is there a good 4 inch blade folder out there? One that is an assisted action?

Thanks

Have you considered the 590 Benchmade Boost??? It is just under 4 inches but an excellent knife.

The Zero Tolerance 0300 / 0301 has a 3.75" assisted blade, but more like a 4" cutting edge due to the shape of the handle. Can be hard to come by, and it's going to be considerably heavier than your Commander (unless it's the Super you have).

Thanks. The boost looks good, I just liked the vector and barrage better.

The spyderco military looks nice although not an assisted action. But has a 4 inch blade.

Not to hijack the thread but didnt want to create a thread just for this question - why isnt there a Kershaw sub on the forums?

i just got the new crkt clever girl folder, while its not assisted it does use a flipper to open and has a 4 inch blade,

Cold Steel Swift has a 4" blade but 3.6" sharpened and its assisted.

I love my CS Recon 1, 4" but non-assisted.

The Swift is interesting and maybe worth having for any true lover of the Tri-ad lock . But I'm not sure I can really recommend it , otherwise .

I sure wouldn't buy one that doesn't have the slide lock safety . I think those all have the properly tempered spring that drives the assist and also acts to keep the knife closed , IIRC .

Here pictured with a Kershaw Blur , which has a nicer , smoother assisted action , IMO .

+1 for the 0452CF if you want a flipper, and it definitely doesn't need assist.

Can't go wrong with a Spyderco 4" folder. I took this picture after scoring the Resilience this weekend for $25 at Wallyworld:

The Resilience is a monster. Heavy because its so big, but really not that heavy. It slices better than my Endura, and I have no qualms with well finished Alphabet steel for a work knife.

How do you like the Clever Girl. I like the style, but am leery of CRKT execution.
the quality is superb on the one i received. the knife has no play whatsoever in any position, strong detent, and smooth flipping action. no disappointment at all. my only concern is the pocket clip, its held by only one screw instead of two or three, i hope it doesnt loosen up down the road.
