Two hands down Mountaineer, it's been my EDC for years.

It has the usual openers and blades layers, and the Vic scissors which (IMHO) is best in business. Then A metal file/saw can do what a wood saw do at a pinch, but not the other way around. Corkscrew because it saves the party, and hosts a mini-screwdriver.

This is a easy choice for me, it’s my favorite sak. The Fieldmaster is my pick.

I also voted for the Mountaineer. I think it is one of the best SAKs: a lot of useful functions without being too thick.
There are 2 things which would make it perfect IMHO:
1) a Rambler style Phillips driver instead of the hook (just slightly bigger and without the opener and wire stripper) and
2) alox scales.
The scissors are not too big for manicure purposes and the file is an excellent nail file too!

Explorer for me, not that I carry it. While it sees other use at home I find it the perfect kitchen SAK, so it lives in the cutlery drawer. The can opener does what it's for; the flat SD tightens pot handles with slotted screws while the Phillips does the same for pots with Phillips screws; the scissors and blades open packages; the magnifier lets me read ingredient lists in fine print; the tweezers pick stray hairs out of food. I've used the hook to open difficult pull tabs.

Now that you mentioned it, it'd make good sense!

Voted Mountaineer. Like a few others, for me it came to to Mountaineer vs Explorer. I like the magnifying glass (plastic?) on the Explorer but I like a large file even more. The full dimensional Phillips is less critical to me as the can opener's slotted tip fits #2 Phillips stuff almost as well for "free". What I'd really love is a 5 layer SAK that combines Explorer and Mountaineer.

I voted the deluxe tinker for the pliers. Now granted, I can’t recall using them as actual pliers, But wow, them things are a heavy duty pair of “tweezers” that have came in handy more times than I count.

After careful reconsideration, I changed my vote from the Explorer to the Deluxe Tinker!

I choose the Fieldmaster. I keep one in the truck and one in the car, just like having a saw if needed.

I like the Deluxe Tinker, but I found I used the mag glass more than the pliers. Which BTW are good at pulling blade type car fuses out. My other SAK is the Champion Plus.
