4-MAX (USA Made) vs. XM-24

Not long after rekindling my interest in cutlery I stumbled upon the 4-MAX and fell in lust...

Of course, I don't actually have any significant need for overbuilt knives generally, especially not folders.

All that said though, the 4-MAX actually can make surprisingly a passable EDC right out of the box.

Not long after I discovered the 4-MAX, I discovered Rick Hinderer's work. The only Hinderer I have ever owned, let alone held, as been one of their Vintage Walnut O1 Ranch Bowies.

I just can't stop wondering how the XM-24 compares to the 4-MAX (considering my unexpectedly favorable experience with it). I suspect better machining, tolerances, etc, but I wonder how much better it could possibly be?

How does the XM-24 stack up to one of the old USA made 4-MAXs out of the box?

What alternative to the XM-24 might replace a 4-MAX of excellent reputation?

Consider that I have had zero issues with the 4-MAX and have been impressed with it in almost every way.

The Italian-made 4-Maxes are generally considered to be better-made than the USA-made ones, so I'd expect a Hinderer to be appreciably better than a domestic-made 4-Max.

Except for collector interest and prices , only made worse by CS Co. sale , I'd just go with the 4 Max Scout .

Less premium materials , but similar performance at a value price .
