OK, it finally happened, knife collecting has made me nuts. I could swear i saw a thread on serial numbers on LB7s recently and dates on when they went from 4 to 3 pins.If im not completly nuts and it does exist please help.If there is in fact no help for me ,then save yourselves from this horrible fate by sending me your knife collections now, save yourselves before its to late!!!!

The pins went from four in the cover to three in the cover around serial #N35001. The Uncle Henry Signature appeared around serial #X29369. Serialization ceased circa 1989.

ebay has had a number of 4 pin LB7s without serial #s. correct to assume these are ones made to be replacements for loss ? roland

Roland,
I've noticed and wondered about this same thing, but I do have one I got as a replacement roughly 25 years ago for an LB7 I lost. It's a 3-pin serialized knife, S/N T9621. So I guess the answer would be the usual Schrade answers, "Who knows?" or "It depends".

This is my LB7. It has seven pins. No serial number.

Editing: It does have a serial # D71105

dipbait, when talking about the pins it usually just refers to the ones in the handle, so yours would be a four pin LB7, one of the earlier models which I happened to pick up recently myself.
