Took 4 knives out yesterday and tested them briefly

The top 2 (Nessmuk and Orange Handled one) are made by the Maker "Kentucky"-her name is Lisa West and you will be hearing a lot more about her and her knives:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Her web page

The one below the Orange one for those who do not know is a Cold Steel Master Hunter in Carvon V steel

The Bottom One belongs to my wife and is made by KFU

more to follow

The Nessmuk is 1/8" thick and sailed through food

The Master Hunter's handle is EXCELLENT if your hand is wet or greasy--very secure

The Orange Handled one is Very VERY sharp but heavy to be used as just a kitchen knife. You could skin a Rhino with it it is that well built.

The KFU blade is too small for me to use well in the kitchen and the handle does not fit me well

Carol on the other hand loves it and liiked it best in the kitchen followed by the Master Hunter(The Nessmuk handle is too thick for her)

Then came some carving

The Orange one was the best in my hand at carving

Followed by the Nessmuk-then the Master Hunter-then the KFU

The Master Hunters handle caused pain if I carved HARD

The KFU is a GREAT Carver--but the handle is too thin for me.Carol LOVES it and tells me it fits her like a glove.

Hope you liked the photos

Will be testing these again this month

Thanks

Beautiful lines on that Nessmuk, one of the nicest I've seen. Liking the groovy orange handle too, black and orange is my favourite. (I love halloween. :))

I always enjoy your ' chopper reviews ' but these are more my kinda knives !

Love that orange handled Wolf Creek !!!!!

The black and orange goes well together. If I would ever get an orange handle for the looks, it would definitely have to be a coloration like that.

Thanks for the post

Great looking blades. I really like the orange handled one. The fact that it is 52100 makes it perfect to me. That steel and I get along really well.

It feels the best of all the ones tested

Best $88 I ever spent on a knife

Thank you for doing this one Doc. I have been waiting for you to do something with food.

I like them all but the orange and the Nessmuk look the best to me.

Thanks Doc.

Dr. Bill. I looked at that picture of Lisa West on her sight... she has to be a person who looks LEAST like a blacksmith that I have ever seen. However - her Hawks and knives prove that looks can be deceiving! It is so cool to see a woman in the game!

That little one reminds me a lot of my Bruce Culbertson EDC - which I love for carving. I was convinced that was an F1 until I read it was a cold steel.
