Taking this to the show. I rarely forge O1, but heres one anyway. Made the blade some time back, just never figured out what to mount it on... I had a bar of precision ground 1/4inch O1 that I accidentally put a DEEP gouge in. Oh well, it was a good enough excuse to forge out a blade.
6-3/4" blade, hand-forged O1, flat ground convex edge, interrupted edge quenched, visible hamon (2nd pic) satin hand rubbed 1200grit. Mild steel grooved asymmetrical guard. Black linen Micarta spacers & buttcap. Handle - Red Deer antler. It curves off to the left a little but is comfortable in either hand.
I'm quite pleased with the way this turned out. I'm having fun with the camera now... Any comments welcomed. Jason.
