Did this one as a variation on my Raptor-Pro tactical piece. I'm coming back to machine finished blades on what I want to call "Workforce" knives to keep the price down low and also out of necessity at the moment. Still recovering from broken ribs and I can't hand rub at the moment.

Specs - 2-3/4inch blade, chisel-ground with a deep hollow, Scotchbrite finished. 3.5mm thick RWL34 powdered stainless steel. Handles - Gary Riner's Camo Fibermascus with a subtle texturing. There is virtually no handwork on this piece whatsoever.

Any opinions on the machine finish ? Or am I taking this idea too far ? I've got 4 more of these being put together for the knife show next week. Thanks. Jason.

love that piece -- and I'm not even a fan of chisel grinds!!!! :D

Looks good to me. I'm also not much into chisel grinds, but the way you made it, it looks quite desirable. ;)

I also fall into the "not a huge fan of chisel grinds" crew, but the knife looks great. You must be using a Scotchbrite wheel/belt for the flat side, huh? I like finishes like that. The one you did on the S30V was great, too. My Spyderco Military (the 440V generation) has the same belt finish on the blade and it's fine. Especially for a knife that's to be used and not cried over when it gets a little wear and tear, I actually like this type of thing better because I don't feel bad using it! Looks great! I've been looking at stainless steel lately myself (although sending out for heat treat sucks and I have blown all my knifemaking money on knifemaking stuff, as usual), frankly, so I can do finishes like that and not worry about enhancing the corrosion factor. Smart idea!
