best part is you can use cut down framing nails as darts, just slide a plastic stabilizer base onto them and your all set.....i just put new bands on mine

Dunno what it's worth but it's BAD ASS! My mother would never allow this into her house.

What's this thing chrono at?

holy crap that thing is awesome. I have never seen a blow gun pistol or anything similar to that.

I'd offer to buy it if I had money to burn!

i have this posted on a bunch of forums and KNOWBODY has any info on it......nothing on the net either, something has to be out there

I remember the ads for these from the ASG days....
Mid to late 80's i would say.

Ok, I've been lookin at this thing since you posted it and I gotta ask, how exactly does it work? I get some idea from the blueprints Beth Ann posted, but still kinda in dark on this one.
Anyway cool "toy"! :cool::thumbup:

Looks like a simple spring-air device... Like a BB gun. The "spring" is the rubber tubing.

When you fire it, the piston slams home, compressing air....

I was just looking at a series of YouTube videos on home-made air guns firing similar darts at impressive power levels.
This was a pneumatic device with a 2-liter soda bottle as the air chamber and a quick-release valve "trigger" working through a bolt action made of PVC tubing and aluminum.
Fun project.

See the 3 tubes? The bottom one is the piston and the middle one is the air chamber an the top one is the barrel ....... pull back the T-handle and release the trigger the piston slams forward then air goes up into the middle chamber then up behind the dart in the barrel............800 fps, pretty lethal

I think any value would be in the novelty. They didn't seem to last very long; I'm betting it's because of the complexity of the design and the potential for malfunction given the purpose and utility. Blow guns are simple and effective; why make them more complicated? You get much more muzzle velocity; but what are you shooting at? If you need the extra power, go up in weaponry, not in complexity of weapon you already have.

Don't get me wrong: I'd love to have one; but it would be a toy more than anything else. The real value of that would be at a collector level. As such, you should price it much higher than you think at first, since you don't have a lot of information to get you started. It's biggest competitor would be pistol/carbine crossbows, but you must take into account that this is a unique model that has been discontinued.

I'd clean it up really well, take some "boudoir" photos, then put it on one of the auction sites for a pretty stiff reserve price. If you sell it, you make more than you expected. If not, at least you'll see what the market will bear.

Good luck!
