4140 Round Bar

I hope this is the right forum? if it isn't, my apologies.

Does anyone know of a good source for 2" OD 4140 round bar? Is there any really good stuff out their? I'm interested in trying to forge out a few hammers.

Try Speedy Metals and Online metals. IIRC, I got my last 4140 from Online metals.

I like 1045 for hammers, have bought some off eBay and amazon.com, but a buddy of mine has been getting damaged hydraulic shafts. Apparently there either 1045 or 4140 and make good hammers.
