Has anyone run acroos a 41Ot on any of the auction sites or know about any for sale? I need this knife to complete my OT collection. Thanks.

Joel

I've seen them on eBay. But they always sell too high for my taste. Might be worth it though if it was the very last knife on my checklist...

So you've found every other Old Timer model? That's great!

I'm still missing a few of the regular Schrades, two of the Ulsters, and one of the Primbles. I have none of the Schrade Old Timer Classics and none of the Grand Dad's Old Timers. I don't intend to collect the Safe-T-Grip Old Timers, but I may change my mind.

Bob,

Thanks. Unfortunately I have not seen any on EBAY. I'm collecting just the Old Timer and Uncle Henry fixed blade only. I'm including the Safety grip handles just because they are Old Timers. I only need the 41OT for the brown handled knives and th 146Ot for the safety grips the I'll try to finish up the Uncle Henrys.

The Old Timer model collection, it seems cannot be filled completely, it is a prototype of sorts but has been designated with an OT number, so that would be the missing link, the model number, 162OT I have also posted a pic, It was available on e-bay last year, and was sold for around $140.00 IIRC.

That's a great-looking knife!

There's always another missing link, or several.

Oh great Barry. Now I need to look for a 160OT. Oh well, it will give something to look for at yard sales etc.

When you get your OTs collection finished you can start on the ones in the thread I just put up on Craftsman Eagle series.Top knife is 41OT type.Arnold

Good luck in finding the 162OT. I know they made very few..
Story is that Schrade did not want to make a knife considered to be a weapon. The 162OT is a dagger and therefore "illegal" in many states and never went into mass production. I know of 2. One was sold off e-bay the other a private sale. Search the archives for LT's story and a few of his pictures.

P.S. If you find a hidden trove of these let me know. Its on my list too.

Thanks Larry. The 162 may just become the Holy Grail of the OT collection. It will be fun searching for one.

When you look at that 162OT prototype long enough, particularly the bolster area, it is reminiscent of the old Outers fixed blades.
