420 darkened stainless steel

i just got a pair of riddick sabers in black but unlike the plain stainless steel surface ones i got earlyer this pair was not sharpend instead or returning the i thought i would ask around and see what i should used to sharpen them my self so if any one has any information for me please feel free to reply

If I had sabers that needed sharpened, I think I would use someone else's labor!

Actually, any decent stone or ceramic should sharpen 420 rather quickly. I have a couple of Buck knives made of 420. They come to razor sharpness very quickly with waterstones, but they won't hold the edge worth a darn.

I don't know how sabers are heat treated, but surely they aren't harder than hunting knives, so you should be able to sharpen them fairly easily.
