I have found a Linder Fairbairn Sykes knife for $50. It is 420 stainless and made in Germany of German-made Solingen. Any good?

Never seen one in the flesh, but according to at least one source: http://www.fairbairnsykesfightingknives.com/post-war-versions.html (scroll about 2/3 of the way down) the Linder has a thinner blade than many and so-so fit and finish. These knives aren't known for their point strength to begin with, so the thinner steel makes me a bit leery. I mean, it's a 100% anti-personnel device, not a utility tool, but still...I'd be tempted to stab it into stuff, like I do with my stronger daggers (Cold Steel, etc.), and would be afraid I'd bugger up the tip in doing so. :D I'd suggest looking around for some other options, personally.

It's a $50 copy. Better made then the $14 India copy, but still a copy. If you like the looks, keep it.

?..It is 420 stainless and made in Germany of German-made Solingen.?
whilst Linder doesn't state in their website
that it is Chinese made.
it has not listed the commando knife as solingen made
but rather as "knives made worldwide".
Great that it is stainless,
unlike the genuine uk made carbon steel blades.
i figure for what they are
they would be sturdier than a Pakistani replica....
