trying to decide between the 2 steels. planning on purchaseing a Vantage, im leaning more towards the avid for the dymondwood instead of the FRN, but then i KNOW that the 420HC is good and easy to sharpen. so just wondering where the 13c26 stands as far as resharpenability.

edit: just found out they have the paperstone for the 420HC models, so my leaning is straightened. :P

Thanks,
Scott.

They also make a charcoal Diamond wood select with 420Hc. The finish is a bit different that the Avid with diamond wood. The select has flat finish as apposed to a gloss finish. I have both and love them both. The select may be a bit harder to find but they are out there and worth every penny.

As far as one over the other I prefer the 420Hc over the Sandivic.

Well, I like the Dymondwood handles and that would be my choice over both the select plastic or Paperstone.
It's a closer decision on the steel. 13C26 will get scary sharp with just a little effort and holds a good working edge longer than 420HC however 13C26 is not as stain resistant. So if you're around salt water 420HC; if you want the least expensive 420HC; if you want better edge retention 13C26; ease of sharpening is a draw. All this in MHO.

I have this Vantage Force Pro in my pocket right now...very cool knife. S30V and G10.

ok, that's the main thing i was worried about was ease of sharpening, and since it's apparently a draw, with the sandvic coming out on top with edge holding it sounds like the one i'm gonna get :)

Thanks,
Scott
