I have to admit: I don't know much about how Buck's 425M holds up under use. I do have two Buck knives with the steel though, a 110 and a 119 Special, and I keep meaning to take them afield. It's just that something else always seems to slip into my pocket/sheath/pack instead.

Looked back for threads with 425M in the title and only found one. It doesn't say much about performance though.

Just thought I'd get some opinions from folks who've actually used their 425M blades. How does this steel hold up for you?

I've considered sending in the 110 for blade replacement (to BG42) simply because I really like the knife's appearance and feel--finger-grooves and nice, old wood with a tight grain. May hold off and use it a while so I can speak more knowledgeably myself about 425M.

At one time I had a 112 with 425m. Very hard to sharpen with the stones I had at the time. Once I got an edge, it held good. With better equipment we have now, it shouldnt be a problem to maintain.
Personally ,I'd find another 110 to reblade. These older Bucks keep getting older and make good additions to any collection.
