I read a thread a while back about RAT coming out with some 440C knives and was wondering if you guys have a time frame on when you might be coming out with them and which knife will be first. Thinking of buying an Izula but will hold off if it's going to be offered in 440C.

The 1095 Izula is a fantastic knife and very corrosion resistant with it's coating. It's also extremely affordable. I'm betting the 440C stuff is still a ways out, don't neglect your knife needs, scoop up a 1095 version now and when the 440 is ready, grab one of those too. :)

Personally, I'll be sticking with my 1095 Izula. It is quite possibly the most practical knife I own. I like it so much, I'd REALLY love for RAT to do their folder in 1095 when it comes out. Here's to hoping.... :D

+1

I love the 1095, and I prefer this over all of the other steels I own.

I can't afford to buy both and I believe stainless is best for knives this size.

Me too! More flavors don't hurt though! And I know that a lot of folks who work on the water would love a RAT that wouldn't rust up on them in spite of their best efforts.

An Izula in 440C would be my choice for a sailing knife. Maybe do a kit with a matching marlin spike? I hope they're out when the ice clears from the lakes.
