#48 Northwoods?? :D

Me too. #48 frame? It looks like both big clip and wharncliffe blades. Are these going to be a Northwoods #48 Improved Trapper or Northwoods single blade knives like the original Scagel #48s?

Just noticed this yesterday -- I recall Derrick saying we were due for another run of Fremont Jacks, but maybe he decided to switch things up a bit? I think the clip/wharnie blade combo is awesome.

I didn't plan on purchasing another slippie this year, but depending on how these turn out . . .

I swear I saw "pen blade" somewhere, but who knows! :D I can't wait to see what develops with this. I'll probably buy one regardless. :p

It said "pen spring" on one of the notes in the pictures, but I see clip and wharnie blades. Well, I did - it appears that they've removed it from our prying eyes, errr, from the site.

I don't think they removed anything that was supposed to be there; a bunch of photos of 66 jack components made it into the 48 page by accident, and have since been relocated.

yeah, it looks like they took it down. But I found some better pics on the "What's Happening" page. Seems you were right, 2dead and Hartlogan. Clip and wharncliffe blades!

Nice! I'll be keeping an eye on these. I'll definitely be getting one, depending on how they turn out I guess.

A improved trapper from Northwoods would be awesome! Right now my GEC #48 is my favorite pattern.

Dredging this up because new photos are back on the GEC website! :D

It looks like we are indeed due for a Northwoods improved trapper. The swedge on the clip blade looks gorgeous. I'm eager to see what's in store handle-wise.

It looks like there will be Big Clip and Wharnie versions

I really wish Derrick would stop making this camel and mammoth stuff, it's just crushing to my resolve

Having just made a fair-sized (for me) purchase there I can't look at his site for a while. It's too much like crack.

I'll not be tempted, I'll not be tempted...
