What is a fair asking price for a never carried/unused, in box, Italian 4MAX?
Like to give my brothers here a fair price but don’t want to lose any more than necessary.
Believe it or not, I like my Scout version better.

Hard to say because anyone can buy a new one right now for $199 at a certain site. Can say what site on this forum. Just bought mine today.

That's not the Italian version if you mean the 4max Elite.
Not 100% sure but the site I bought mine from says 4 Max S35VN G10. I don’t see “elite” anywhere on the description or the knife. It does say Taiwan on the blade though.

Green and black g10 is the Elite. The older ones were just 4Max.

Anyway, the point is the Italian one goes for a different, higher amount.

Yep, agree. What’s weird is that the site I bought mine from doesn’t have the word “Elite” anywhere. I still think it’s a great deal at $199 but I agree, it’s clearly different than the older Italian made 4Max.

Glanced at eBay, saw them sell around $500. Some more, some less. That’s how collectibles can be.

Thanks for the replies. I have no intention of asking that much. Want to give my brothers here a good/fair deal.

This one is Taiwan made, with G10 scales and S35VN blade, and I assume the liners are not titanium, correct? I won't call $200 a crazily cheap price but it is ridiculous to price it in the $300-$400 range as most other sites do. It almost feels they are purposely confusing this Elite version with the original 4-Max (which has 20cv steel and ti liners).

What did you pay ? (Rhetorical question , because IDC ) . ;)

IIRC I could have got one for ~$300 but most went for more ? But the original cost is irrelevant to current value .

If you just want to recover your cost ...then just do that . Sell at your cost .

If you want to make a profit , that's different . I'm not sure what "fair price " even means, except the current going rate .

For that , I'd check out Ebay recent "sold" listings for the closest to what you have to sell .

Business dealings with family can be sooo awkward !

Well I got the Scout and AD10. Promptly ordered another one of each.

The Scout is hilariously overbuilt and heavy, which in turn makes me love it for the ridiculous factor. Who doesn't want a folder that's as thick as a BK9?

The AD10 is pretty darn comfortable in the hand, and is reasonably pocketable. Very smooth action and a notable higher quality fit and finish.

Despite Cold Steel having poor customer service, I just can't quit them. The knives are awesome.

got an ad10 tanto lite today. great knife. blade could be a bit bigger visually, but thats nitpicking.

also got today the 4max elite. great version. pricey even on sale, but is what it is.
