hey guys i just did video comparison between my two Hinderer XM-18's which are a 4th Gen 3.5" Slicer Flipper and a 3rd Gen 3" Spanto Flipper. in the vid i help clear up some of the terminology and explain the differences between the different generations, sizes, and blade styles. i also do some slicing/cutting demos at the end :). if you like what you see please sub and i hope you enjoy!

Very nice review. Technically, your 3.0" XM-18 is a second generation and the current production of 3.0" models being produced will be considered Gen 3 and will have the relocated stop pin (with production spanto and production slicer options as well various custom grinds I imagine). Also, the thumbstud isn't specific to a generation change, both thumbstud versions exist and aren't specific to any generation.

Regards,

Rich

If you wanted to be accurate, you would refer to it as Gen 2.

Thanks for the video.
Even with the point RDA brought to your attention and it being a tad long it was informative.
Especially to people who have not seen the 3" and 3.5" side-by-side in hand.
As to the Hinderer desriptions being difficult to interpret, I somewhat disagree. XM is the model, size comes next, flipper or non, then the grind; Spanto (spear & tanto combination), or other grind (with descriptive nomenclature-Slicer, Bowie, Warnclif, etc.). After all that you have Ti and blade finishes as well as what blade steel was used. If they are DLC, it's in the name as well. And if it's a hand ground custom that will be disclosed as well. What I am saying is that instead of just giving it a catchy name, they tell you exactly what you are getting into from the get-go.
Btw, I like chicken. (as in-I like turtles zombie costumed kid viral)

Keep up w/ what stuff? If you are talking about the viral video just go to YouTube and type in the search box "I like turtles". It's a short video of a zombie face painted youth.
Not knowing if you are kidding, please understand that I am not trying to be rude to you or anyone.
Too old?? Figure of speech, I hope.

It's easy. Go to RadioShack and ask for a pack of YouTubes (they come in pairs) :D

Hey, If we can't have fun with each other, who can we have fun with? I get tired of playing with myself:eek:
I mean, by myself....:)
