4th Generation Ipod...

So who here is going to take the plunge and upgrade to the 4G Ipod?

Max

Just 4Gb's? A device that big has room for more then one microdrive :)

They're 20 or 40 gigs.

4G means fourth generation.

I've only had my 3G for 6 months, so not yet for me. However, I finally saw a mini up close - I want one of those now - if I could find one!

Yup - I've been contemplating getting one for about a month, glad I waited since the newer models have much greater battery life and a price cut :D

My son has the mini, great little device.

My mistake, I thought it was still in development. Basically all they have done is put ipod mini controls on the 3rd gen. No way am I buying it, I'll wait for 5th gen, dammit! I want a all metal ipod!

And added battery life... From less than 8 hours to 12 hours thats a 50% improvment. Battery life is one of the largest problems people seemed to have with the 3G units. I've only had my 3G 40GB iPod for 5 months so I'll stay with what I've got. Also I don't like the "new" Gray Minipod controls.

Battery life is a biggy, it's near non-existant on 3rd gen, you cant even use games or backlight for draining battery, and if u flick thru songs etc, you only really get 4-5hours. I thought the mini controls looked very functional. I still don't understand why companys produce $300+ items in plastic, i mean how much more would it be for a metal case, i think they want to to break it so they can screw you on repair bills.
