Hello All,
Just about this time last year, I received a 30% off discount code at benchmade.com. At the time, I thought for sure that I would use it, but the year rolled by and I find myself still in possession of it. So I figured I might as well offer it up to the community to get everyone a tad-bit more excited about the upcoming holiday!

So here's the deal, the code expires on the 5th, so only enter if you plan on using it between now and then.

If you plan on using the code and would still like to enter, please reply below with something you love about America! Your post number will be your entry number and I will use a random # generator to select the winner. Ill do the drawing on or about midnight tomorrow night (7/3). Code will be sent to the winner by email. Happy posting!

Hello,
I Love "America The Beautiful" because WE have the FREEDOM to worship Jesus "our savior" without persecution. That is number 1 for me, but the list goes on and on. I would like you to give mine away to a fellow veteran if i win. Thanks for starting this post. God Bless America.

America is amazing! My family immigrated here over 25 years ago, and feel that they have been blessed to have the opportunity to live in this great land!

I like that in America I can see blade forums without it being censored to oblivion.

oh yea i'm in what i like about america that i can carry my firearm with no problems...also float down the river with a beer in my hand!

Being in a country with so many strict laws, the thing I miss most about America is the freedom to carry things I want without As manyAssanine restrictions, even if I do love my UKPKs.

All of our rights! Everything is great about it here!
P.S. My family a traces all the way back to the Mayflower!!!

I love America, because despite years of erosion of personal liberties, we still stand as being the free-est and most liberty-oriented nation in the world. The focus on personal liberties and the emphasis on a merit-based society, and the fact that as Americans, we still respect and acknowledge all these privileges are bought and paid for by the blood of patriots, is why we are truly truly exceptional (no matter what CNN says).

Thanks for the chance and excellent idea!

Thanks for the chance. Like others have said, the freedom and feeling of safety while walking down the street.

You know I've always had mixed feelings about America. Yes the freedoms are great, the ability to do so much is incredible, but I feel it takes a tad too long for any change to come along or for common sense to take charge.
For instance, my mom's side of the family (full blood Japanese) had to deal with prosecution during WWII, had all of their properties stripped, were split up and sent to 5 different "Internment Camps" all of whom still bear scars from.
My Grandfather still believing in this country, tried to get an "American" Education from a (we'll leave the college un-named) but he and only he, filled their "Jap" Quota. In a College of over 5,000 at the time they allowed for one Japanese-american, Someone who had been born and raised in San Francisco.

Phyx, please don't count this for the contest, I just felt that this needed to be shared. Sometimes as great as we may think this country is, we still have to take a look at the past and see our dark spots to keep our reality in check.

Mods if this is overstepping my bounds please feel free to act accordingly.

I love my country because I am free to be a Gun toting, knife collecting, loudmouthed libertarian, agnostic, and NOT get beaten to death on the street.

I love America because even when we do it wrong, we do it better than almost any place out there

* not an entry by the way

The winner is res1cue! Thanks all for participating and have a happy 4th!

I know I'm too late, but as someone who has been overseas for a few weeks with passport problems, I can say I love the US because the US cares about me as one of its citizens. General statement, but our government is one of the best a human could ask for. I saw this as they worked to get my passport back together in a place that isn't even recognized by almost every other country, including the US, and saw this as they volunteered to evacuated expats in emergencies overseas, such as the war in Lebanon, the earthquake in Japan in March 2011, etc. No matter where I am, I'll always feel like I have a home in the US.

Just felt I had to say that. We as knife enthusiasts may feel we're losing our rights, but we have it good that we can fight for them.
