I know I'm cheating a little by posting this on the 3rd but I wanted to wish all the fine American folks here on the Traditional forums a very happy 4th of July!
Enjoy your holiday weekend and best wishes from a friend and neighbor to the north.

Hey, if Gus and I are gonna let this thread stand you'd better do us proud and measure up to our Canadian brothers and sisters and show some fine traditional knives! ;)

Happy and SAFE "fourth" to you all! Let's try to remember and emulate the spirit that made this country great.:cool:

May God bless our great nation and may our brave sons and daughters continue to keep us safe. This is our 233rd birthday, so let's have a blast!

Well done, Charlie!

On Independence Day, the knives I tend to think of are the knives that hearken back to another era as well as those that were carried by the brave souls going into harm's way.

A nice slice of history both somber and encouraging, Elliott.
America's history is a truly great one!!

Very best wishes for a great 4th to all of my American friends on board. Although made in Germany, this knife seems appropriate. Enjoy your holiday.

When I saw the picture Blues posted of the old Field and Stream, I remembered I had an old McGuffey's Reader. I figured the book and an old Barlow would make a nice picture of Americana. I believe McGuffey' s Reader was one of the main textbooks in the 1800's. What I forgot was what was written in my copy. It reads " Willie Osbornes book - July 3 1878. The Case XX Tested Barlow is a good deal newer than that.

Happy 4th to all here...
Those are great pics of the old books and knives, very cool.

Its another special time to remember those who served our country, past and present, and to remember how fortunate we are to live in the U.S.A..

BTW Elliott, your WW2 Case is a real beauty.

There we go. A fine American knife by Ken Coats and a great American novel. Okay the harmonica is German but I play the Blues with it and thats American too.;)

You'll have to get yourself some Lee Oskar's to go along with the Hohner.

God Bless America! Happy 4th of July all. I hope you all have a blast, stay safe, and keep the garden hose at ready.........I take the family to a nice show tonight, it is a long time community tradition in Ventura Co. and the pyro techs charge a little less since it is a 3rd thing. Another plus, is that it is my twin boys birthday today, they are 12. I do enjoy this holiday. To all who served our country, I tip my hat to you all in a heart felt respectful THANK YOU~

Happy Independence Day to all! May it be full of the best things in life. And thanks to all our servicemen and women, past and present, who made it possible.

How about these.... left to right...Ulster Boy Scout, Kutmaster, and Remington...and of course Bill Nye in the background.
