$5,000,000.00 Shelby Super Snake

Yep, dual supercharges, 800hp, it is one of two made, the guy that bought the other one last year died in in in a wreck!

I like the irony of this thread,

Just last night I drew the conclusion that Boss Hog is the knife world equivalent of Carol Shelby. They have both left their mark on their respective industry and both of them have found a way to be in control of the products that they sell.

Careful.

What if it was Bill Gates? He gives a TON of money away. Isn't he allowed to own a $5mil car?

Couldn't 90% of your knife budget go towards StraightHandle INFI-deprived in Taunton, MA? ;)

We don't know squat about the dude, his income level, or why he bought it. Romans 12 exhorts us to "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn." Should we not rejoice with his good fortune? Because isn't God in charge in all things??? I can't imagine He's up there right now saying, "Oh MAN! I had a great plan to feed the hungry and clothe the naked, but some jerk just bought a $5mil car!"

Just food for thought. Speaking of which, I gotta go get some food. I'm a bit peckish.

Just wait till they roll out the Foose customized black & gold Radio Flyer loaded with an assortment of seventeen satin, blue & black G10 Mag'd (half of which have been flown) HOGMOABS!!!:eek::eek:

Wife used to work for John Kluge when we lived in VA. I remember he and the Sultan of Brunei bidding against one another on some Rolls Royce. Kluge won.

I've worked on 2 residential projects in this state where the artwork in any one of the outbuildings is worth more than I will have made in my lifetime x 5. Got to do some phenomenal work, see many interesting things and make a living on one mans summer compound. Who am I to tell him what the hell he should do with his income? I think that when you put your name on the door, you can spend the benefits as you see fit. So, when I am more than a dollaraire, I'm buyng a 1966 Cobra 427, an AH-64A/D Apache, a Barrett 82A1, a Springfield Armory M1A, a Kimber SuperMatch II and after I find a DC/Tan SFNO, I'm ordering enough custom INFI, Katherine Graces children will still be overseeing my orders!;) :D  At that point, do you think I'll care what anyone thinks of my spending? "Banned Smiley"

Now I want to see that Shelby race a Tomahawk!

I understand the dude owns a runs a Shelby museum and has more bank than he knows what to do with. Sweet car!!!

Carol Shelby only controls what he sells by signing papers liscensing his name.

A few years ago I saw a place where you could buy a Shelby sticker kit for a '94 Mustang which made the car a "Shelby" complete with certificate of authenticity.

In '93 he was complaining that Ford only made a 1993 Cobra Mustang just so that the rights to the Cobra name would not revert back to him. At the time I believe he was "working" for Dodge, being the inspiration for the Viper.

I'm pretty sure that means he signs any liscensing agreement he can find as long as the check doesn't bounce.

Before Gone in 60 Seconds made everyone want an Elanor, he was so desperate that he was "finding" origional Cobra chassis.

Now he is back in bed with Ford, selling the GT500, a car developed by SVT and Roush, all Shelby added was his name. Even worse is the Shelby GT, otherwise known as a Mustang GT with the SVT Drag Pack factory installed.

Shelby has spent the last few decades whoring out his name and diluting the value of his origional cars.

What Shelby did in the 60's was pretty cool, what Ford did to him in '69 wasn't that cool but it's no excuse for what he has done since then.

Comparing that to Jerry Busse is an insult. There are only 2 things that exert control over Jerry, that's Jennifer and JWB.

Its no secret shelby was working for Dodge. Remember the mid 90s Datonas? They made a "Shelby Datona" with a turbo charged I-4 that shelby SUPOSEDLY helped to design. A buddy of mine has a Shelby Datona; he replaced the factory turbo charger, gave it an awesome tune, and now its making ofer 300 horse power.

And Busse is cool.

I quoted the word work because I think he mostly sold his name, I don't believe he had any impact on the Viper design.

At this point I consider Jerry Weigert and John Delorean more reputable than Shelby.
