Hello,
I am seriously considering the 5.11 Select Carry Pack for all around use and when I am biking. My traditional backpack is annoying and kinda chunky even though its small (if that makes sense haha). Has or does anyone have the 5.11 pack and if so what are your reviews? Thanks for the help, forums like these are always so informational and save me fro mmistakes.

Unless you carry an MP5 when you ride your bike this looks like a waste of money. Guaranteed to end up in the back of the closet.

haha you sound angry about anyone getting it. What are your reasons for saying that?

No, definitely no anger, just trying to encourage a follow forum member not to waste their money. In a sea of outdoor, preparedness, tacticool crap you can't be too diligent when considering the latest "must have" item. The OP is even asking for feedback to save him from mistakes.

First I'd stay away from the 5.11, I've had nothing but trouble with their gear recently. Quality on the items i've purchased has been atrocious and so I've been avoiding them like the plague.

Second of all what was said earlier about not needing the newest tacticool ultra high speed operator gear is correct. Spend your money on a pack that has what you need and will be practical in more then one aspect (not only for cycling, but also day-to-day or whatnot).

I'm not for the tacticool thing, I look for fit and function and if it happens to look the part then that's a plus for me. I like the over the shoulder deisgn a lot. If there is a different ov er the shoulder pack thats better please tell me. Thanks

The 5.11 bags are ok but nothing compared to the Maxpedition Sitka and also the Kodiak Gearslinger.

I have had some complaints with 5.11 gear from customers regarding the quality but never with the Maxpedition gear.

I myself use Maxped backpacks for EDC and for my trips to the mountains. very tough and versatile.

Both bags I mentiond are the over the shoulder accross the chest strap kinds as well.

+1 on the Mapedition and Kodiak.

Also toss Saddleback Leather into the mix....costly but I do love the leather.
