After getting a 5.11 Tactical "Investigator", I was reading on their website and found a place to put in your zip code to find the nearest 5.11 dealer. I found there was a police/fire/ems equipment store less than 10 miles away that carries the full line of 5.11 Tactical knives.

So I went over last Sat. just to take a look and you all know how that goes! :D

Came home with this monster of a folder.

The "First Responder" spearpoint model, designed by Steve Tarani.

BLADE: 3 7/16th inches long s30v stainless.
HANDLE:G-10 scales over full steel liners that are just under 1/8th inch thick.
OVERALL: 8 3/4 inches.
4 position carry, left/right & tip up/tip down.
Made in Taiwan.

The blade is just under 3/16th inches thick and runs full width to the tip.

The liner lock is very thick and rock solid with no play.

On the end is a "striker plate", that I guess could be used for blunt less lethal impact, or as a glass breaker.

You take nice photos.

Oh yeah, Nice knife. I've read a couple of nice posts about the 5.11 line and have not read of anyone being unhappy with them.

Very nice pictures--thanks! The blade shape looks elegant for a tactical knife. I like a combo edge on a blade like this, for cutting rope, webbing, seatbelts, etc.

How does that big finger cut-out fit your hand?

Fantastic knife!!! I got one myself and posted a while back. Somebody replied that they thought the lock "was a little on the thin side" :D

Dont know what pic they were looking at...

Looks like a great working knife. Do they make it in plain edge ? Don't really care about the combination dge.

Very nice photos. I just got one and i'm concerned about the liner/frame lock not engaging all the way as compared to photos on LAPG site. My lock doesn't even engage the blade end as well as yours. I apppreciated your photo to compare to mine.

It will get there don't worry, just open and close it a lot.

I had a few of them, only one FR left. I have special plans for it.

Also you can use that butt plate to open beer bottles.

I handled one of these about two years ago and loved it. It has one of the most comfortable handles I've ever felt. If it was plain-edge I'd'a bought it, no questions. Good luck with it. It's a very knice knife! :D

I'm getting my regrinded to do away with the serrations, and few other things.
