I just bought my third 5.11 knife the first two being Karambits, the latest offering the stout little Investigator Tanto. Blade steel is 154CM, scales G-10, & it has stainless liners. It is a very stout little lockback folder with very stiff springs and a great lock. All in all it's got the makings of a great little utility folder. The one issue is the serrations of the partially serrated blade, they are dull and this stands in stark contrast to the excellent edge forward of these serrations, there the blade is wickedly sharp all the way to the tanto tip! I've had a hard time trying to sharpen the serrated portion of the blade. Your advice would be most welcome as I do not wish to do anything rash and permanent to the working end of this wonderful little folder...:D

Have you tried getting a Spyderco Medium ceramic rod and just slicing down on it a few times, then strop the back side against leather or jeans? You may find that's all you need to get them sharp. Good knife, by the way.
