5/16" Steel Heart?

Hi Everbody,

First post in the Busse forums!

I just wanted to know if Steelhearts come 5/16" thick in INFI and A2 steels and how to tell one model from the other.

Welcome aboard. I would defer to those more expert int hese areas than myself, but the current production Steel Hearts are .250" and made of INFI. There were older, out of production, Steel Hearts that were 5/16ths" as wlel as A2, but they have gone the way of status as collectors. There is a way to tell, but I am not familiar with distinguishing INFI from A2. I do know that Jerry has examined knives for people and advised them one way or the other.

The only way to be positively sure that one of the older SH's is INFI or A2 is to send it to the shop and have Jerry check it out.

After a lot of waiting and searching I was lucky enough to come across a 5/16" A2 Steel Heart over a month ago. They are really tough to find:(
 
I guess only Jerry knows.

The extra thickness in 5/16 SH can't help cutting any; I guess it turns the knife into something more like an AX.
