I'm looking for some 1 series (hopefully 1065) in 5/16 x 1.25. I've tried Pacific, Admiral (pretty unfriendly this time :(), Kelly Couples, and some smaller suppliers on the "supplier list" no luck so far.

If it comes down to it I'll forge round stock down by hand. That will probably light a fire under me and I'll get a press :),

Thanks for the leads guys.

Matt

Bring some 1/4" stock down and we can forge weld it together.....stack 3 pieces so there will be a no weld running down the center.

Also...when I see ya Friday I'll show ya some steel that I am 90% sure is 1065 and 3/8" thick....and u can get it too!

Thanks Greg, I'll bring some with me. I have at least seventy feet of 1065. Should I bring 1x.25 or 1.25x.25?

Matt

Either would be good.....once it welds we can upset it a bit and get thicker than 3/8" too...just depends on what size u want it. It'll be like San Mai.

I believe Fitch did this with 1084 to make his 3/8" chopper.

Thanks Greg. Yea, I think Fitch welded two bars together for the knife he set the record with. I really need to get a press...
