Hi guys! I posted the other day asking what my knife was worth in the thread "Just wondering". I just realized that my SH is 5/16 thick. I had it next to another knife that was a 1/4 inch thick and it stuck out that this SH is indeed 5/16 thick I measured it and all this time I thought it was 1/4 thick! I now have a question for you experts.
How many 5/16 thick SH's were made and are these more valuable than a 1/4 thick SH? When were they discontinued? Thanks for any input!!!;)

Wow :D Talk about concidences. I just found out yesterday that SH2 I was using for last few months is 5/16. Same thing, I was playing with other SHs and BM variants, and the difference was visible, measured and what a surprise. Cool :)

UR kidding right :D

SH2 as I got it from Pete's tactical. Wasn't sure for a while if it was INFI or A2, finally sent to Jerry for refurbishing, and chemical analysis, which confirmed it was INFI.

SH2 as I got it back from Busse Combat :)

And all of my SHs on this pic measure 1/4, except the second from the bottom.

Aw man, you guys got ripped off.

The 5/16" ones are Made in China reproductions.

I happen to collect these reproductions.

I will give you $50 each to ease the pain of buying a fake, and I will even pick up the shipping to me.

Let me know....

;) ;)

Holy Cow Gator! I also got mine from Pete! I live about 50 miles from him! I wonder if mine could be INFI? Probibly not...were there any bird beak's made in INFI of just A2?

;) That's interesting. From Pete huh. Say hi if you see him and one more thank you from me!
About INFI or A2 I donno Skag, I've spent few weeks trying to figure out what was mine, by scerws, handle slabs, etc. After getting 50/50 I've decided to send it to the creator ;) When I've described the knife to Jerry he said it was impossible to guess, only chemistry...
Though BB may ID it?

Will do Gator! I bought Pete's last Bird beak and about a year later I saw him again and he wanted to buy it back from me!:)

Wow, this is Cool.

BB SH in 5/16"
INFI SH's in 5/16"

I know there weren't many 5/16" INFI SH's but I have no idea how many.

I don't believe there were ever any INFI BB's though. Andrew(the SH historian ;)) will probably be along shortly to post and he will straighten us out :D:D

Great Finds. :D:D

I don't think there were many 5/16" INFI Busses made, and I don't think there were many BB INFI Busses made. I would say that INFI BB's are even rarer than 5/16" INFI's. I've gotten these impressions from reading a lot about the A2/INFI issue and talking to Jerry a little bit about it (though not on this specific topic). So, I would have to guess that your SH is A2.....if it is INFI it is one of the rarest Busses ever, as it combines the rarity of INFI BB and INFI 5/16". Still, A2 5/16" SH's are a great find :D

I have seen 5/16" non-BB SH's (further up in the lineage) that were A2. This puts into perspective how rare the INFI BB's are. In fact, it is possible there are none, but from what I've read I believe there are a few.

I'm not sure about the price, but it would definitely not be cheap.

Let's see some pics :D
