5.45X39MM ammo.......

was wondering if there is some kind of shortage of 5.45X39MM ammo right now, have seen a few AK74 rifles selling cuz the owner says he has no ammo?????? i know no hi-tech stuff is available, but what about std FMJ?

luckily got a case of ammo w/mine, but just wondering if i should get another case......

My guess is that it just isn't available at their local sporting good stores, pawn shops, etc. The ammunition isn't as popular as 7.62x39 but, it is by no means scarce.

A quick web search on froogle.com shows several places with Wulf brand in stock.
 
The problems I've had with getting 5.45 ammo are related to importation issues (not legal issues lazy Russian issues). Because there are not many types of arms that use this ammo there are few manufacturers that are willing to give it the time of day. The better part of the 5.45s that I have seen were comie surplus and every now and then they fall behind on filling our orders. Be patient and you'll find some more in time. As for buying another case that is always a good idea if the price looks pretty good, if you buy some nice non-corrosive ammo, chances are it will outlast you and prices are always rising so you'll save some dough in the long run.
