I was wondering what you guys thought of how useful a 5.5" blade Busse would be for all ranges of field work. Something that will fall in the family of such knives as the Randall #15, and the Chris Reeve Shadow IV.

I personally consider a blade of 6" or below with an overall length of 10.5" to be the most useful knife one could have. A 5.5" blade makes a perfect package.

For the heavy work...a 12" blade machete, Kukri...or a 'new' Busse depending on what comes out!!!

I was thinking something in the combat range. Again, something like Reeve's Shadow IV...Randall #15.

I would go with the Natural Outlaw for a heavy duty field knife (that could be used for "combat duty as well), for something a little more pure "combat/fighting" knive, look for a Pure Breed Fighter (PBF) in the 6" range. Both of these knives are available only on the used market....

Or wait just a tad longer, and check out the new series that is coming....

Just my .02
