I had a Mountaineer I and while I did love it, found it a bit handle heavy for such a small knife. I got to check out a Mountaineer II at the last CKG show thanks to Neil at True North Knives. I found it had a much better balance point and liked the size of the blade. I was curious if they had ever produced one with serrations on the spine a la Aviator(etc.) I was sure while surfing some pics awhile ago I did see one?????

Anyone know of any and how rare they are??? Am I going to have to spend a bundle to get one if I can even find one???

Thanks
Craig

On the Aviator I was under the impression they are used for opening up/tearing open plane or helicopter skin.

CRK did at one time or another have their one piece knives with a sawback as you can see in the pic. I had a hard time tracking down a Jereboam I. I did finally find one for $500. I did see a 5" sawback on ebay a month or 2 ago and it went for around $350 I believe. I am a Huge Fan of CRK one piece knives having 15 and counting, but I especially like the sawback versions. Though, like the post above, they will not cut wood as the teeth are tapered and thinner than the blade overall thickness. BUT, they look Cool..............
