After finally getting al the image of the trip and the 3 knife shows we attended in Sept/Oct. I finally took some time to photograph and do image editing this afternoon to knives I either bought at shows, got from Ebay or from fellow collector Roger P.

The first knife I actually purchased prior to departure but did not see it until I returned so it was great to finally see it. The Steve Filicietti fighter is 12" OAL with a forged 5160 7" blade having multiple temper lines--very unique. SS fittings adorn this beauty while an Australian Blackwood handle completes the knife that fits snugly in a terrific hand carved by maker sheath.

I had not seen WC "Bill" Johnson before this years Chicago show but he has been a maker for 25 years. He had a variety of items and I'm a tad sorry I did not also purchase a nice stag handled skinner although I knew there were two more shows to attend. This knife is a subhilt recurve fighter but not double guarded so perhaps its intended use was not as a fighter. Well executed with nice ivory scales and tapered tang. The sheath is made by Bill and if others have seen the site with the Chicago show pics, they will know he makes some terrific canes.

At the Plaza Cutlery show, I entered the opportunity to obtain a few knives. I finally settled on this Dusty Moulton Bitteroot model Hunter. I have long enjoyed seeing Dusty's knives as they remind me much of Claude Montjoy in construction and fit/finish. This one is made of ATS34 with 416SS fittings. The handle is the most incredible Kudu with mosaic pins. The bolsters are engraved by Dusty and the sheath is his also. I have long wanted nice kudu scales on a well executed knife and am please to have been # 1 on this draw.

Without my friend Roger, I'd have a much smaller collection so I am please to show this new piece that I received from him about a month ago. It has been reviewed before so I show you the basics of this hunter by Andrew Jordan.
Sheath by Ken Rowe, this small hunter with O1 forged blade and SS fittings in a Ironwood full tang construction is a delight to handle and fits beautifully with other hunter/utility knives in my collection.

And lastly, another knife obtained from a dealer at the Chicago show is this Mike Sanders folder with heat colored Thunderforge Damascus bolsters and blade. Titanium liners enhanced by beautiful blue/brown Siberian Mammoth scales make this piece particularily visually exciting. I saw Mike in Lafayette, La but was not able to obtain anything else. Hard to compete with this beauty.

Guess this will have to do for awhile.

What fine taste in selections! Every one looks intriguing. Nice haul.

Murray, you know I enjoy good photos. Yours are some of the best! Thanks for taking the time to share them. :)

Coop

His work is flawless and is still a user of soldered guards but the solder is impecable. Grinds are perfect. I should have gotten the Skinner too. He will be in LV in Jan. HIs canes are works of art.

Consider this fair warning Murray - I'm going to pry that Filicietti out of your hands one day. :grumpy:  The rest of 'em are pretty darn cool as well. ;)

Roger

good thing I don't have to pry from Roger. I just open my arms and he fills them like firewood. Thanks for all the knives you have given me the opportunity to get and you know you are always welcome to look at knives anytime. But I'll be keeping a close watch on the Filiciettie :D

Fantastic knives and of great quality.

I congratulate him for their work.

doing a test of this image from a different pix hosting site. let me know if you see it properly as I do. it is the Filicietti posted again.

I can see it!
Spectacular pieces Murray, you did good. I finally got to see the Sanders you picked up.

Murray, Thanks for the great show! Great knives and images!

That Andrew Jordan hunter is pretty special, I think. Last spring at Tannehill in Alabama Ken Rowe was set up at a show. Evidently he trades sheath-work for knives sometimes. He had two Andrew Jordan Knives, one quite large, that he was using to demo special sheath-work.

Throughout the weekend I returned again and again to Rowe's tent and fiddled with those two knives. You can bet I put some pressure on Ken but he was not willing to part with either! I'm sure Murray and Roger will agree, AJ does nice work.
