I already ordered a nice sheath but seems i will be a while before it arrives.
Since I'm using my knife and not leaving it in a display case, I really do need a sheath to carry it safely.
So a bit of cardboard, newspaper, some glue and a couple feet of duct tape later...

The bit of cardboard comes into contact with the blade like the original white cardboard that is shipped with the Busse, I just added a couple more wraps and some newspaper glued around, then folded to make a thick tip. A piece was glued for the belt loop, covered with duct tape and then duct taped to the sheath itself. Some more tape all around, folded on the edges to teh inside of the sheath (this also adds some friction and keeps the knife from falling when upside down, and its done!
Just an idea so as to have so sort of sheath until a better one is made.:p
Take care and have fun!

I use heavy shipping cardboard (stuff so heavy to get the bend to stay, I have to drive over it with my car tires about 10 times, after jumping up and down on it with my 350 pounds would not keep it bent!

I use Gorilla tape to make the belt loop and tape it up. Until I either make a leather sheath, or buy a Kydex one.

Only my KZII is still in the cardboard sheath. The rest have quality pants. (still working on the open spine leather sheath for the KZII)

I feel the dutch tape sheath is of the highest quality, and you can tailor make it to your needs.

Wolfdad, it takes about 6 months for me to deliver this high end product.:D
Really, just a few minutes, took me 5, maybe 10 minutes but its really easy.
Did you forget to punch a hole on the bottem for a drain hole? :D

I'm about to do that, drain/hole for leg loop combo. Truth is that I doubt it will take water well since its cardbord. Maybe if I had used some plastic liner for the inside it would have been better.

I tried making a duct tape sheath for a Beaver Bill knife of mine.

Turned out like sh**.

I wish I had this as instructions at the time

Did you really just show us how to make a cardboard duct tape sheath?.... and then did someone really just say I wish I had these instructions earlier...?:D

Andy Wayne from Scrap Yard was real big into cardboard/duct tape sheaths. I used one for a Tramontina machete until I got in some leather large enough to make one.;)

I think that using some thick plastic sheathing instead of cardboard and paper would be a real winner. That way the sheath is waterproof and there's no concern about the cardboard getting wet.
If I get around to try that out I'll post some pics.

Mine was a bit more expensive, but not as refined.;):D My first Gorilla Tape sheath from a few years back.

I made it with a 6 pack case and gorilla tape.

I carried it the rest of the day, and it works great.

not as nice as a chuddy bear sheath tho...

If I'm not mistaken, this is how man has made sheaths since the beginning of time. There have been many cave drawings found picturing ancient men with mullets drinking heavily and rigging functional items from duct tape, a material said to be passed down from the heavens.
