Getting into Liner/Frame lock folders and need a consensus on the blade lock angle...
What is the ideal angle for where the lock hits on the blade?

I have used an angle of about 11 degrees since I started making liner locks say 17 years ago. I cut this with a 120grit belt and leave it as such. I do the leaf in a reverse with a 400 grit. You can test your lock up by turning the folder up side down opened and give the blade a bit of a tap. The lock should stay engaged. It sure works for me. I have never done the end of the leaf hardening of the titanium and have not seen any amount of wear occur after useing a blade down to replacement in an EDC. Frank

According to page 53 of Bob Terzuola's book,

7.5 to 8.5 degrees

Less than 5 degrees will bind and stick.

I do mine at about 8-1/2 degrees. I made a special jig, I used to have a dedicated disc sander but the jug I made is much easier. I will post some pics, just have to take them first.
