Came across a 5 pin buck 110 on the bay few days ago.
Ive personally never seen them before and it went for lot of money.
Can anyone shed any light on info on these

Heres the ebay number

150840548274

Thanks

I think I saw the one you mentioned. That was most likely two bidders that put in a high dollar amount thinking they would win the bid from a normal bidder. The highest one got caught on that one bad.

So that price was way to much then.
Do you happen to know what that 5th pin is for..is 4 not enough ha

It was a change over period from the two pin to the three pin knives. I'm sure there must be a thread here explaining it better than I can, but I've just been called to dinner. If you can't find it, I'll look later.

Quick answer is that Buck just filled all the holes in the liners for a short change over period.

Great thanks again, i have tried to search for the threads, but unless i get the wording spot on i have no luck :)

You can also check it out in Joe Houser's sticky on the 110s at the top of the Forum.

Fifth Variation of fifth version.......five total rivets including the big rocker rivet.

Easy way to remember it.......5/5/5.

Keep in mind that there was a Third Version model with no inlay rivets, too.

Only the rocker rivet showing on the side.

Here's mine... It needs a little cleaning up...

There is a 112 like it too..For some reason rare NIB.I think it's worth jut a little more a regular 110.

George Stenzel, stated those pin progressions went (small) 2,4,3 then the large 3 pins occuring in 1978. The holes being present already so it was a natural move. I think it was done in an attempt to get away from gluing. There are collectors here that have all 4 of those 2 dot configuration pins in there collection. DM
